In pasture, on a low hill. A circular area (44m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (int. H 0.55m; ext. H 2.2m) which appears to be well-preserved beneath the overgrowth. An external fosse (D 0.45m) is also covered by overgrowth in places. There is a slight slope down to the S in the S half of the interior which is otherwise level. The centre and the E sector of the interior are covered by overgrowth. This is probably the rath called 'Lissrooa Fort' which was mentioned in the 1840s as being in the E side of Lisroe and from which 'this townland derives its name' (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 2, 30).
