What is recorded here

In pasture, on a flat area of a N-facing slope, c. 40m N of the Rathcomane-Dromdoon Beg road. This possible rath is not visible at ground level but, according to the landowner, in the summer a circle of buttercups marks its location. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and as a subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), open NE-E and defined by a single line, on the 1894 OS 6-inch map. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
