In pasture, on a SW-facing slope. This rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and on the 1894 OS 6-inch map as a pear-shaped enclosure (c. 50m N-S; c. 50m E-W) with the W half incorporated into the field boundary system. The approximate location is now a level area defined by field boundaries at N and W, by a break of slope along the S arc and by a differential growth pattern along the E arc. This is probably the 'remarkably large' and 'tilled' fort in the S end of Knockalibade which was recorded in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 2, 24).
