Six ogham stones, reused as roof lintels, were found in a souterrain (KE057-023001-) in a rath (KE057-023----) in this townland (Barry 1891, 516). Macalister (1945, 239) noted that four of the stones were taken from the souterrain and used in the building of a cottage in the village of Laharan. Subsequently three of the four stones were removed to Lord Dunraven's mansion at Adare (ibid.) where they still are (see LI021-034003-, LI021-034004-, LI021-034005-). The fourth was left behind, and 'is now lost to sight'. (ibid., 240). Regarding the fifth stone, Macalister (1945, 241) noted that the Rev. E. Barry in 1895 gave an improbable reading of this stone as 'Corbágn (sic) maqi mucoi C…'. This stone was not seen by either Brash or Macalister and its present location is not known.
