Six ogham stones, reused as roof lintels, were found in a souterrain (KE057-023001-) in a rath (KE057-023----) in this townland (Barry 1891, 516). Macalister (1945, 239) noted that four of the stones were taken from the souterrain and used in the building of a cottage in the village of Laharan. Subsequently three of the four stones were removed to Lord Dunraven's mansion at Adare (ibid.) where they still are (see LI021-034003-, LI021-034004-, LI021-034005-). The fourth was left behind, and 'is now lost to sight'. (ibid., 240). This stone, now at Adare Manor (LI021-034005-), was described by Macalister (ibid., 241, no. 246) as measuring '3ft 6in [1.07m] x 11in [0.27m] x 1ft 2in [0.37m])' and inscribed on two angles. He read the inscription as 'CORBAGNI MAQI BIVITI'.
