Killeen Burial Ground: A complex of farm buildings now occupies the site of this burial ground, which is located a short distance S of the confluence of the Cottoners and Laune rivers. The site was marked on the first edition of the OS map as a small rectangular enclosure, but was indicated only as 'site of' on the second edition. It is noted in the OSNB as a children's burial ground (Killorglin, 24).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1043. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
