Fairy fort / stone ringfort in An Coimín (tc An Mhín Aird)

Internal diam. 20.3m E-W, 19.2m N-S Cahernacummeen/Cathair an Choimín: This roughly circular cashel is located about 225m NE of KE054-075----. Its enclosing wall, 2.2m thick, is for the most part reduced to a broad band of stone collapse with the inner and outer wall faces visible at only a few points. Two stones set 1.66m apart, across the thickness of the wall at ENE, may represent the entrance. A drystone-lined rectangular depression in the wall at N is of uncertain date and function. It measures 1.75m x 1m internally and is a maximum of .75m deep. There is a possible entrance from the cashel interior at its SE corner. A roughly D-shaped hut foundation abuts the inner face of the cashel wall at NE. Little of the wall remains except for the low uprights which formed the base of its inner face. A roughly oval hut foundation in the W part of the interior measures 3.7m N-S x 2.8m E-W internally, and the drystone-built wall stands to a maximum height of .7m. No clearly defined entrance is preserved but there are small niches in the inner face at N and W. A roughly-constructed, irregularly-shaped wall has been built against the inner face of the cashel wall at W to form a small enclosure measuring c. 2.7m N-S x 1.3m E-W.
