What is recorded here

Internal diam. 26.4m A circular univallate rath situated on a gentle E facing slope overlooking the Minard valley. Along the SE and S sectors the site is enclosed by an earthen bank up to 1.25m high internally and 1.1m externally. Around the remainder of the perimeter the bank has been replaced by a curving field wall which preserves its line. It is not clear where the original entrance lay but, at present, access to the interior is provided by gaps in the bank at S and SE. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 510. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
