A roughly circular univallate rath located on a N facing slope on the N side of Ballymacadoyle Hill. An external fosse is present along the S and W sectors; it is c. 7m wide and .75m deep. The earthen enclosing bank is a maximum of 3m high externally and 1.75m internally. At NW and NE, sloping ramps have been constructed on the bank to give access to the interior. The original entrance may have been located in the ENE sector where the bank has virtually disappeared and where a horseshoe-shaped pit has been excavated. This latter measures 4.75m x 6.5m x 1.75m deep, and is enclosed, except to N, by a 1.25m high bank.
