Doonywealaun/Dún Uí Mhaoláin: This small promontory juts SW into Ventry Harbour a little W of Paddock Point. It measures 54m long x generally no more than 6m wide and, at the landward end, a bank and outer fosse extend for 16m from cliff edge to cliff edge. The fosse is .9m deep, c. 2.7m wide at base and c. 1.5m deep below the top of the bank. The bank rises c. 0.7m above the interior. A 1m wide berm is traceable along the outer face of the bank. A causewayed entrance crosses the defences providing access to the interior.
