A fort known as An Liosachán once occupied this field (local information). It was destroyed when stones were drawn from it for the County Council many years ago. Another fort called An Liosachán was apparently located in the neighbouring townland of Ballintemple (KE052-017----), but this latter example seems to have been too small to classify as a ringfort.
