What is recorded here

On a level tract of rough pastureland about 75 m W of Kilgobnet (KE052-003001-). A roughly circular internal area, 3 to 3.6m in diameter, is enclosed by a bank of earth and stone 1.3m high and 3.2m wide, with a .9m wide entrance gap at ESE. Numerous old field fences occur in this area, and directly S of the hut site is a series of low banks possibly representing a yard. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 1274. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
