A large block of gritstone (1.5m x 1.05m; 2.25m high) tapering towards the top has an inscription on two angles: VELITAS LUGUTTI which has been translated as ‘Of the poet Luguttis’ (Macalister 1945, no. 251). Macalister (ibid.) suggested that an earlier inscription was hammered away to make room for the existing epigraph. (McManus 1997, 93-4)
