A univallate rath KE046-002---- within which are the probable remains of 3 hut-sites (KE046-002001-, KE046-002002- & KE046-002003-). It lies in wet pastureland on the E slopes of the upper reaches of the Finglas river valley. The roughly circular interior is enclosed by a single earthen bank and fosse, the latter measuring c. 2m in width and up to 1m in depth below the external ground level. The bank rises a maximum of 1.5m above the base of the fosse and 1m above the interior. It is not certain which of the numerous gaps in the bank represents the original entrance. However, the most likely candidate is a c. 2m wide gap at ESE which is defined on its S side by a line of stones laid horizontally or on edge. This gap is now blocked externally by a later bank.
An irregular depression, c. 3m in diameter and up to .25m deep, abutting the bank at NW, probably represents the remains of a hut-site. Two contiguous depressions in the W sector of the interior also probably represent hut-sites with a connecting passage. These measure c. 3m and c. 3.5m in maximum extent and are up to 1m deep.
