Situated on the fairly steep lower slopes of Knockbeg, overlooking the Emlagh river valley to S, is a standing stone known as 'An Galláinín' (An Seabhac 1939, 287). Almost square in plan at base and roughly rectangular in elevation, it leans heavily to S but would stand 1.9m high if erect; it measures .41m x .4m at base. A few cms from its WNW side, a 2nd stone is set on edge in the ground. This measures .95m N-S x .2m x .42m high. Several small packing stones are also visible. An Seabhac refers to a large prostrate stone in the adjacent field known as 'Páircín na Cloiche'; this was not located and its archaeological significance is not known.
