Tobar na Croise is a spring well located near the head of Kilduff valley. Rounds have not been made here for 30 or 40 years. Ó Danachair (1960, 71) suggested that this was the well from which the Ballynahunt ogham stone (KE045-016----) reputedly came.
Ó Danachair (1960, 71) recorded the following details about this well; 'This well is still visited occasionally. Nine circuits of the well are made while a rosary is recited : in the full ritual this should be done on nine successive mornings before sunrise or evenings after sunset. The well held a cure for the " evil ". An ogham stone [KE045-016----] carved with a cross now in the neighbouring townland of Ballynahunt is said to have been taken from this well'.
