The on-site Stage (iii) Excavation Services at Gortacurraun 5 (E005270) were undertaken between 5 November and 24 November 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The site of Gortacurraun 5 consisted of two charcoal-production pits (KE044-145----) and a series of pits, postholes and stakeholes. A number of agricultural features comprising field ditches and furrows were also excavated. Two features, posthole C.67 and ditch C.38 extended beyond the extent of the excavation area and the remainder of the feature is preserved in situ outside the CPO to the north. Additionally, a possible circular enclosure also was noted to the north of the site. The features are located within a field, and are not obscured from view (Kearney and O'Hora 2024).   Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details provided by Dr Mara Tesorieri.
