What is recorded here

Univallate ringfort KE044-118---- is located in the S corner of the triangle of land isolated by the Dingle to Anascaul, Dingle to Castlemaine and Anascaul to Castlemaine roads. Ashe (1954, 10) noted a souterrain (KE044-118001-) in the interior, but the only feature now visible is a rectangular area, 5.5m x 4.7m, enclosed to S and E by stones and to N by a low mound of earth and stones. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 460. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
