Internal diam. 22.5m N-S, 20.5m E-W A roughly circular univallate rath situated about 125m S of KE044-113----, on level ground with good clear views in all directions. The fosse is discernible only at S where it is protected by the low bank which separates the site from the railway-line. The fosse is 3m wide and .5m deep. The bank is 1.5m high internally and 2m high externally. A lane runs E-W to N of the site, and portion of the bank at NNW has been replaced by the lane wall. A 1.6m wide gap at SSW appears to represent the original entrance. The 1m wide gap at SE is a modern break. The only features visible in the interior are 3 amorphous mounds of stone. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 332. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 6 August 2013
