Two ogham stones were dislodged by a flood which affected the bed of a stream in this townland (Macalister 1945, 162-3; O'Sullivan 1931, 398). According to Curran, the find place was near Kilfountan Church (KE043-144003-). This record relates to the one that was broken up for building material. The 2nd was preserved for a while in a farmhouse near Kildrum graveyard (KE143-130001-) and then removed to the grounds of St. Brendan's Seminary in Killarney where it remains today (see KE066-099---). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
