What is recorded here

Lisnarahardin/Lios na Rátha Áirde: Circular bivallate rath KE043-239---- contains traces of 3 or 4 hut-sites and also reputedly contained a souterrain (OSNB Cloghane, book 2, 8). It is situated on a slightly elevated tract of level ground overlooking Trabeg. A rectangular hut (KE043-239005-) lies in the shelter of the bank at E. It measures 3.5m x 2.8m internally and is enclosed by a 1.15m wide band of collapse. The entrance may have been located in the W wall which is almost completely levelled. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 524. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
