Lisnarahardin/Lios na Rátha Áirde: Circular bivallate rath KE043-239---- contains traces of 3 or 4 hut-sites and also reputedly contained a souterrain (OSNB Cloghane, book 2, 8). It is situated on a slightly elevated tract of level ground overlooking Trabeg.
The centre of the interior is occupied by a circular, raised area, c. 20.5m in diameter; this is apparently natural. A series of stony banks at the centre of this may mark the sites of 3 huts, but only 1 (KE043-239001-) is clearly defined.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 524. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
