A mass-house which was situated in John Street, was removed in 1702 owing to its proximity to the barracks (McKenna 1979, 49). It is possible that it was in existence since the conversion of the parish church probably in the later 16th or early 17th century.' (Cuppage 1986, 380-83, no. 1011). It has not been precisely located.
