Lismore/An Lios Mór: Circular bivallate rath KE043-134---- commands an excellent view in all directions from the S slopes of Knockavrogeen. Two souterrains (KE043-134001- & KE043-134003-) and a hut-site (KE043-134002-) were formerly visible in the interior but are no longer traceable. Windele also noted a hut-site in the centre of the site. The interior is now occupied by stony mounds and hollows which form no recognisable pattern and which were too indistinct to mark on the accompanying plan. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 486. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
