The 'Eccia de Rath...' which is included in the Papal Taxation list (1302-1307) for the diocese of Ardfert (Cal Docs Ire, V, 297) cannot now be identified. The church appears on the list between Kildrum (KE043-130----) and Dunurlin (KE042-041----) and has been interpreted as referring to an edifice in or near Rahinnane (Hickson 1888, 444). There is no other record of a church in this locality.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage (compiler) 'Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.' Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne (1986), no. 996. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
