In September 1948, four lintel graves (c. L 2m; Wth 0.75m) were discovered during the construction of a new house in Murreagh village. The burials were at a depth of c. 1m below ground surface, in sea sand. The burials, occuring in a group of three with one a few metres south, were all extended and aligned west-east, with the head to west. (Cahill and Sikora 2011, Vol. 2, 47-48)
