What is recorded here

This site lies 50m to W of the previous one. It was named as a calluragh on the Fair Plan but was untitled on the published editions of the OS map. The present remains consist of a stony platform or mound, an irregular semi-circle in plan, which abuts the S side of an E-W field wall. It measures 14.7m E-W x 11.6m N-S and is c. 0.5m to .6m high. The OSNB (Ventry, 22) describe only one calluragh in this townland and it is not clear to which of the two the description applies. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 882. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
