Cloghaunnanoon/Clochán na nUamhan: Roughly circular ringfort KE042-058---- is situated in the low-lying crescent of land that surrounds Smerwick Harbour, about 100m N of the early ecclesiastical site at Reask (KE042-060001-). A close inspection of the remains is difficult due to a dense cover of ferns and briars but 2 hut-sites are visible in the interior. (1): A circular stone hut, c. 4.2m in diameter internally. The wall is now reduced to a mound of collapse. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 521. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
