An irregular mound situated on low-lying, level ground on the E side of Smerwick Harbour. It abuts the N side of an E-W field fence. The N portion of the mound is composed of stones which may simply be field clearance debris, but the S half consists of a low, earthen ridge running E-W and separated from the stony mound by a linear hollow, 4m long E-W x 1.5m wide. The feature measures 10.6m E-W x 9.1m N-S overall and varies from c. 1 to 1.8m in height. It may simply be an accumulation of field clearance debris, or the remains of a structure, perhaps a sheep-fold. There is a local tradition of a grave in the vicinity.
