Internal diam. 27.8m Lisroe/An Lios Rua: A univallate rath situated on low-lying land about 450m E of Smerwick Harbour. The enclosing bank, composed of fine earth and sand, is a maximum of 2.25m high externally and 1.1m high internally. It is faced internally with drystone masonry along its E half. An external fosse, up to 3.15m wide and .35m deep, is present intermittently. The entrance gap at ENE is now only .4m wide. Wind-blown sand has accumulated against the inner face of the bank forming a mound or 'berm' up to .7m high and 4.5m wide. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 514. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
