Souterrain discovered in 1991 during 'earth moving operations' and described by the Castleisland District Archaeological Survey as follows; 'The souterrain consists of a short drystone built passage, c.3.4m long and c. 80cm wide which runs in a N-S direction. At the S end is a solid rock face, and it is here that the roofing slabs have been removed. A small creepway is evident at the N end but collapse prevents exploration' (SMR File 23/12/1991).
