What is recorded here

'Located in the south-western corner of a relatively flat marshy field the site affords reasonably good views in all directions, particularly to the north and the Stacks Mountains. The land here has been improved to some degree and this low mound may well represent the remains of what was a larger site. The mound is circular, 6.2m in diameter with no evidence for a trough and it remains to a maximum height of 0.31m.' Description from ‘The Prehistoric Settlement of the Lee Valley, Tralee, Co. Kerry; A Landscape Perspective’ by Michael Connolly. PhD Thesis UCC 2008 Date of upload: 20 June 2012
