'Located in a marshy field in the foothills of the Slieve Mish mountains are at least five s, with the possibility that about about a dozen more mounds which occur in the field, although less well defined, may also be sites of this type. The field in which they occur is very wet and in all likelihood is prone to flooding in winter. Only the five most obvious ones were recorded. All were distinctive grass-covered mounds, which contain burnt stone and blackened soil. A small stream, which is a tributary of the River Lee, defines the western boundary of the field in which these sites occur.........a low sub-circular mound to the south of the above example (KE038-127002-). It measures 7.00m N-S by 6.00m E/W and is 0.30m in height. No trough area was apparent.'
