What is recorded here

This record refers to an unlocated castle in Trughanacmy Barony. Sir Richard Cox's Description of Kerry in 1687 recorded that 'in this barony at the foot of Slievelogher stands the Castle of Arnagragh [Ardcanaght?] near which is to be found the best blackslatt in Ireland' (de Brún 1972). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 25 January 2022

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
