Camp Castle: Possibly built by a branch of the FitzGeralds (Coleman 1909, 152-3), the castle is now represented only by a low mound and some random mortared masonry. Grass-grown wall foundations adjoining the mound may be the remains of ancillary buildings. The site has changed little since the 19th century (OSNB Kilgobban, 48). The castle was located in a commanding position, overlooking Tralee Bay to the North. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.
