What is recorded here

Known locally as a calluragh burial ground, enclosure KE034-018---- lies directly E of Tiduff village, on the lower W slopes of the Brandon mountain range. About 5m to E of the entrance, a possible building, rectangular in plan, is defined partly by field walls, partly by grass-grown mounds and partly by earthfast stones. It measures a maximum of 16.2m E-W x 9m N-S and appears to be internally divided into 2 sections. Its relationship with the calluragh is not known. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 888. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
