The monument was described in 1987 by the 'Castleisland District Archaeological Survey' as 'burnt black earth and burnt shattered red stone' which had been discovered by the landowner during the digging of a drain. The material is still visible 'to a depth of 1.2m in the western side of the drain'. According to the Castleisland Survey, a 'low mound runs in an east to west direction from the western side of the drain itself for a distance of 7.3m' (SMR File). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
