Fulacht fia in Tooreenmore (trughanacmy By.)

Fulacht Fia surveyed in 1985 by the Castleisland District Archaeological Survey and described as follows; 'Situated in the north-eastern portion of the townland on a south-east facing slope in a field of wet pasture. Rush growth is obvious in around the monument. The main road to Castleisland lies to the south-east of the monument. The mound of burnt black soil and shattered red stone, runs from 280 degrees to 154 degrees. The mound is horseshoe shaped, the area of the trough is pocked marked by the hooves of cattle. The mound measures 16m from north-west to south-east, and 11.6m from north-north-east to south-south-west. [All measurements taken from the base of the slope on either side]. The width of the back of the mound equalled 8.3m measured from the base of the mound. The width of the opening in the mound equalled 5m. The height of the mound externally on the east measured 1.3m over 6m and 15cm over 4m internally. The mound is at it's highest at this point'.
