'This low mound was generally circular in plan and 6m in diameter. The mound was composed of layers of fire cracked, angular stones, black soil, ash and charcoal. A circular pit cut into the basal subsoil was partially excavated, the remainder of the pit being outside the area of investigation, indeed three circular to sub-circular cuts and smaller pits filled with material similar to that comprising the mound were excavated. The three larger examples varied in size from 0.88 by 0.66m, to 2.20 by 1m and 3.60 by 1.20m and from 0.30m to 0.45m in depth. There was no evidence of in situ burning or stone or wood linings on any of these features.'
