What is recorded here

'The small field in which these mounds are located is extremely wet and marshy. The nearby recorded fulacht fiadh (KE029-136----) is a classic horseshoe shaped mound......this second mound [see also KE029-260----] is also stone-filled and overgrown with grass and reeds, and is kidney shaped in plan. It is situated in the same field as the mound mentioned above and measures 9.00m N-S by 6.00m E-W with a maximum height of 0.60m. No trough area is apparent in this mound.' Compiled by Michael Connolly for the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as part of a survey of the Lee Valley area in 1996-97. Date of upload: 02 May 2012
