National Monument No. 57. Discovered in 1975 during a routine clean-up of the interior of the ancient church at Ratass (Fanning and Ó Corráin 1977) the stone has been set up beside the N wall of the nave. It consists of a fine purple sandstone, 1.45m high x 0.34m x 0.20m, bearing a simple Latin cross and the following inscription: [A]NM SILLANN MAQ VATTILLOGG. The edge of the stone 'appears to have been deliberately dressed or shaped and the incisions are clean, regular and unweathered' (ibid., 14)
