What is recorded here

The precise location of a possible burial ground in the townland of Slievenavadoge recorded in the Minute Book of County Kerry Field Club 03/02/1940 (Vol. 1, 83) has not been identified. The Kerry Field Club recorded that; 'Mr. McMahon also pointed out the spot where it is traditionally believed that burials took place in ancient times. this is a place on the North side of Knockanush Hill and several earthen mounds are apparent'. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
