What is recorded here

Unlocated possible cashel described by Cuppage (1986, 229, no. 727) as follows; 'On a visit to this townland in 1949 the Co. Kerry Field Club visited 'a small caher with a large beehive-shaped hut outside the wall'. They also visited 2 sites which they described as 'liosacháns '. This term is glossed by Dineen as 'fairy fort' and may refer to a small ringfort or cashel. The sites have not been located and local information suggests they have been levelled.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
