What is recorded here

Internal diameter 17.5m E-W This site is situated immediately NE of KE021-011----. Marked on the 1841-42 OS map as a circular enclosure, on the 1898 edition it does not show up as clearly and would appear to be somewhat levelled. Today all that survives is a semi-circular earthen bank which is now much levelled. It is very low and wide, being on average 11m wide at the base and .7m-1.2m. high. This site is possibly a satellite fort of the previous rath (767). The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 768. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013
