Internal diameter 25m N-S, 23m E-W
This bivallate rath is situated two fields SE of KE020-003----. It consists of a sub-circular space enclosed by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. The well-defined inner bank is c 5m wide and rises to 1.2m above the interior and 2m-3.2m above the fosse. The U-shaped fosse encloses the whole site and is on average 3.8m wide. The outer earthen bank is on average 4.2m wide and rises to 2m above the fosse and on average 1.6m above the external ground level. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land and contains at least five small mounds; these could be the remains of a souterrain (KE020-004001-) since 'cave' is marked on the 1842 OS map. The mounds in the interior would appear to be constructed of stone. The overall external diameter of the rath N-S and E-W is 50m.
