This possible souterrain was situated in a wood about six or seven miles from Listowel. It was known locally as 'Dominic's Cave' after an outlaw by that name who was trapped and killed there in 1823. This cave is also connected with Lord Kerry's heir who was taken from Listowel Castle and hidden in a cave for safety (2). However, the cave was closed up at the beginning of this century, so it cannot be examined (A. Gaughan, 1973).
