What is recorded here

This univallate rath is situated in the SW sector of a field which is known locally as 'Church Field' (951). The site has been cut by a fieldbank running NE-SW. On the NW side of the fieldbank the fort has been completely ploughed out, but because it is in a ploughed field can be distinguished by the different coloured soils. The enclosing bank on the SE side of the fieldbank is 4m-7m wide and rises to .7m high. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 572. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
