Promontory fort described in 2002 as follows; 'A subrectangular northeast-facing ridge-backed headland slopes steeply down to point. It measures 70m long by 37m wide and a 3m wide curving earthen bank crosses the promontory one 18m from the neck. A faint outer fosse is intermittently visible and a gap close to the eastern cliff edge suggests an original entrance feature. The headland is highest in the centre throughout its length with sloping sides. The interior undulates but no clear features can be seen. The area is one of fertile pasture and the site is overlooked by higher ground inland and by a nearby headland to the west' (Casey 2002, 48, no. O).
