What is recorded here

Rathbeg/Ráth Bheag (small ringfort; KE014-079----) is marked on the 1842 and 1916 OS maps as a large circular enclosure. In the 1842 map, 'cave' (KE014-079001-) is marked in the interior of the site, but it does not appear on the later edition. Today this site has been completely levelled and no surface trace remains. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 456. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013
