Internal diameter 36m
Lissaniska/Lios an Uisce (ringfort of the water) is situated NE of KE014-045----. A bohareen runs along the W side and then curves around the S side and turns S. This univallate rath consists of a circular area enclosed by a well defined though overgrown earthen bank and an exterior fosse. The bank rises to a maximum height of 1.2m above the fosse and .7m above the interior and is 5m in width at the base. The enclosing fosse is well defined, though to the S it is extremely wet. The fosse is c4m wide and .5m below the height of the surrounding land. There is a small opening in the bank to the NW, but this is most likely a secondary feature rather than the original entrance.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 450. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
